Dorothea Russo, 61, Former Norwalk Resident

DANBURY, Conn. - Dorothea "Thea" Russo of Danbury, formerly of Norwalk, died Wednesday, June 11. She was 61.

Russo was born Nov. 24, 1952, in Binswangen, West Germany, and was the daughter of Franz Tomasch of Roundtop, N.Y., and Elizabeth (Sowarsch) Tomasch. She immigrated to the United States with her family and first settled in Norwalk, where she attended local schools and graduated from Norwalk High School in the class of 1971. She was a retired bookkeeper. She was a member of St. Joseph Parish of Danbury.

Russo is survived by her husband, Albert A. Russo; father, Franz; daughters, Nicole Merrick (James) of Houtzdale, Pa., Kimberly A. Russo of Brookfield and Alison T. Russo of Danbury; sons, Frank V. Scrofani and Joseph R. Scrofani both of Manville, N.J., and William C. Russo of New Haven; brothers, Roy Tomasch (Lisa) and Gordon Tomasch (Nicole) all of Ft. Myers, Fla.; sister, Michaela Tomasch also of Ft. Myers, Fla.; four grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her mother, Elizabeth.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, June 16 at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, Danbury. Calling hours are at St. Joseph Church following the Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will take place in St. Peter Cemetery, Danbury at the direction of the family.
