NORWALK, Conn. -- Donna Ann Stamatin 55, of Norwalk, formerly of Stamford, died at Norwalk Hospital.
Stamatin was born Feb. 23, 1959, in Stamford and graduated from Stamford High School in 1977 and later Norwalk Community College.
Stamatin played softball in the Miss Softball America league and later coached softball as well. She was a director at the Dorothy Heroy Park in Stamford. An avid music lover and photographer, Donna was the head of the Hope Street Woolworth music and camera department and later worked for Constitution Federal Bank as well as the state of Connecticut Child Support Enforcement before retiring.
She was a dedicated music fan, and her love of the Beatles led to many years of record collecting and attending many concerts. Always involved with her favorite bands, she struck personal friendships with the groups The Smithereens, The Osmonds and The Cowsills, as well as many of their fans. She was also an avid baseball fan of the New York Mets.
Donna is survived by friends Peter and Rachel Valenzon, Kevin Frawley, Tom Lialios, Greg Mulqueen and Lauren Condon. She was predeceased by her mother, Anna Delio Stamatin.
Calling hours will be Monday, Feb. 16, from 4-7 p.m. at Shippan's Thomas M. Gallagher Funeral Home, 453 Shippan Ave., Stamford.
In celebration of Stamatin's life,everyone is encouraged to wear their favorite concert or novelty T-shirt. Services and burial will be private.
