Donald J. Heilbron, Former Norwalk Resident

NORWALK, Conn. - Donald J. Heilbron, formerly of Norwalk and North Haven, died Saturday, April 5. He was 67.

Heilbron was born Jan. 23, 1947, in Bridgeport, he was the son of Norman J. and Anna Mae Clark Heilbron. A graduate of Central Catholic High School in Norwalk, he began his career in the theatre business during high school working at the Norwalk Drive-in. He later owned Roger’s Corners Drive-in Theatre in Pleasant Valley, for 17 years before retiring as a manager for AMC Loews Theaters. A polio survivor, he was president emeritus of The Polio Outreach of Connecticut, a support group for polio survivors and he also served as an assistant program chairperson.

Heilbron is survived by his daughter, Heidi Heilbron of Attleboro, Mass.; two grandchildren; sister, Debra Kasinskas of Bethel (Edward); a nephew and niece; former spouses, Sandy Heilbron and Irma Heilbron. He was predeceased by his parents; and son, David.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, April 10 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Ave., Norwalk followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Phillip Church, 1 Father Conlon Place, Norwalk.
