Ortega-Mejia was born May 9, 1926, daughter of Doroteo Ortega and Isabel Echeverrar. She was a Norwalk resident for 18 years, making her home with her daughter, Ana, and was a parishioner of St. Mary Church.
Ortega-Mejia is survived by her children, Ana Deisi Osorio, Dora Maria, Ricardo, Maria Isabel and Oscar Jaime, all of Norwalk; 16 grandchildren; and five great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her parents; and husband, Lisandro Mejia.
Calling hours are Friday, July 19, 2013 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Ave. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, July 20 at 11 a.m. in St. Mary Church, 669 West Ave. Burial will be in Cementerio General de Sonsonate, El Salvadore.
