Art Teacher Rosemary Cellini Of Norwalk Dies

DARIEN, Conn. – Rosemary Cellini, an art teacher at Darien's Middlesex Middle School and a Norwalk resident, died Monday, Superintendent Stephen Falcone announced.

"Rosemary’s passing is a tremendous loss to the students and staff at MMS as well as the entire district," Falcone wrote in an email to the faculty and staff. "Your support and concern for our colleague and her family are deeply appreciated. I know that you will keep her in your thoughts and prayers."

Cellini taught at Middlesex since 2003. In 2011, she was recognized as the Connecticut Art Educators Association's Outstanding Middle Level Art Teacher. She was adviser to the Odyssey of the Mind team at Middlesex and a state presenter in the area of assessment of the fine arts.

Falcone said he will forward information regarding funeral arrangements when it becomes available.
