Charlie Charles, 87, Of Norwalk

NORWALK, Conn. - Charlie Charles of Norwalk died Saturday, March 22. He was 87.

Charles was born in India in 1926. He was the son of Charlie Pedro and Lillian Arokiamary.

Charles worked as a general manager in Food & Beverage Service at the American Embassy (New Delhi) for more than 25 years and worked at the Stamford Marriott. After his retirement, he spent his time and talent at the service of the clergy at St. Thomas the Apostle Parish rectory.

Charles is survived by his children, Anthony (Pauline), Rita (Nathan), Peter (Nancy), Richard (Antonia), John (Susan), Victor (Mary), Salina (Augustine), Martin (Gladys), Alice (Binder), Albert (Liza) and Simon (Margaret); 23 grandchildren; and six great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews in US, India and Burma. He was predeceased by his parents; and wife, Annamary Charles.

Calling hours are Monday, March 24, from 5 to 8 p.m., at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Ave., Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, March 25 at 11 a.m. in St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 203 East Ave., Norwalk. Burial will follow in St. John Cemetery, 223 Richards Ave., Norwalk.

Memorial Contributions in Charles’ honor may be made to St. Thomas the Apostle church.
