NORWALK, Conn. -- Charalambos Bletsas, a former Norwalk resident, died on Monday at his home. He was 81.
Born March 24, 1933, in Greece, he was son of the late Christos and Eugenia Stoukas Bletsas. Bletsas served as a mechanic in the Greek Army. He later moved to Germany for eight years before coming to America in 1968. He worked as a master welder for Hobbs Equipment Co. until his retirement.
In addition to his wife, Sophia Giotis Bletsas, he is survived by his two daughters, Eleni Bletsas and Chirstina Efstathopoulos and her husband Chrysanthos.
He is also survived by four grandchildren, four great grandchildren, three brothers and many nieces and nephews.
Friends may call on Wednesday from 4 to 8 p.m. at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Ave., Norwalk. Services will be held on Thursday at 10 am in St. George Greek Orthodox Church, 238 West Rocks Road, Norwalk. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Riverside Avenue, Norwalk.
