The daughter of Jack and Natalie (Mitchell) Harding, Longley was born in Newport, Vt., June 11, 1939. She was the beloved widow of John C. Longley.
She graduated from Norwalk High School in 1957 and from the University of Vermont in 1963 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing. Her career included many different aspects of the field of nursing. She and John lived most of their married lives in Rowayton, retired to North Conway, N.H. and also to The Villages, Fla. She was very active in the churches in Rowayton and North Conway and sang in the choirs of both churches.
She is survived by her loving sons, Mathew J. Longley and his wife Jennifer of Enumclaw, Wash.; and Mitchell A. Longley of Westport, Conn.; and her sister. She is also survived by her niece; five nephews; and her three beloved grandchildren. She was predeceased by her husband and parents.
There will be a memorial service at 11 a.m. May 9 at the United Church of Rowayton, 210 Rowayton Ave., Rowayton. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the United Church of Rowayton Christian Outreach Program, which meant a great deal to Longley.
