Arlene Tanner, 68, Norwalk Native

NORWALK, Conn. – Arlene Romanelli Tanner, a former Norwalk resident of Danbury, died July 5 at Danbury Hospital after a brief illness. She was 68. 

Born May 12, 1944 in Norwalk, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary Mazzucco Romanelli. Tanner graduated from Brien McMahon High School in Norwalk. She worked at Stop & Shop on Mill Plain Road and Xpect Discount. Tanner was most happy when spending time with her family and cooking for her grandchildren. 

She is survived by a son, William E. (Teressa) Tanner III of Danbury, a daughter, Lisa Tanner Bonsignore of Phoenix, Ariz., two brothers, John (Dorothy) Romanelli of Norwalk, and Roger (Carol) Romanelli of Windsor, two sisters, Fran Crake and Marjorie Francavilla both of Norwalk, four grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Tanner was predeceased by a sister, Marie DeMartino, and her former husband, William Tanner Jr. 

Funeral services were held Tuesday at Cornell Memorial Home in Danbury. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Friends of Karen, 118 Titicus Road, P.O. Box 190, Purdys, NY 10578.
