ROWAYTON, Conn. - Anna Elizabeth Birchard of Rowayton died June 30. She was 80.
Birchard was born May 2, 1933, in Norwalk, daughter of John and Margaret Straub. She attended Norwalk High School. She was the wife of Robert Birchard. She worked at RCA on West Avenue and waitressed at Modugno’s. She had a career in several local retail establishments including Loehman’s in Norwalk and At The Top Drawer in Rowayton. She was a member of the Rowayton Volunteer Fire Department Ladies’ Auxiliary and a eucharistic minister at St. Matthew’s Church in Norwalk.
Birchard is survived by daughter, Sheila DiCostanzo (John) of Norwalk; son, Bruce Dominick (Lisa); five grandchildren; two great grandchildren.
Calling hours are Friday, July 5 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Collins Funeral Home, 92 East Ave., Norwalk. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday, July 6 in St. Matthew Roman Catholic Church, 216 Scribner Ave., Norwalk. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery, 81 Riverside Ave., Norwalk.
