Angelo Anrico, 88, Former Norwalk World War II Veteran

NORWALK, Conn. – Angelo T. Anrico of Stratford, Conn., and formerly of Norwalk, died unexpectedly on Oct. 17 at Bridgeport Hospital. He was 88. 

Born Aug. 19, 1924, in Milford, Conn., he was the son of Peter Paul and Alessandra Anrico. He graduated from Norwalk High School in the early 1940s and served in the Army during World War II. 

Anrico retired from the U.S. Postal Service as a financial director in the 1980s after a 35-year career. He was an avid golfer and craftsman, but, most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family. 

He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Shirley Anrico; four sons, John (Gwen) Anrico, of Lenexa, Kan., Peter (Barbara) Anrico, of Zionsville, Pa., Tom (Lori) Anrico, of Trumbull, and Tim (Eva) Anrico, of Shelton, Conn.; four daughters, Carol (Frank) Kesl, of Cornwall, Gail (Eddie) Ostrowski, of Shelton, Kathleen (Dave) Lewallen, of West Lake, Ohio, and Patricia (Frank) Guthman, of Norwalk; 14 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by two brothers and three sisters. 

A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Norwalk. Burial with military honors will follow at St. John Cemetery in Norwalk. Collins Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
