Austin was born on July 5, 1959, to Mary Lou Austin and the late John Austin. She graduated from Brien McMahon High School in 1977. After graduation, she worked at Kmart and as a teller at a local bank before moving to Baxley, Ga., in 1987. In Georgia, she worked at Ero Industries in Hazlehurst and the Fleetwood Corp. in Baxley.
She is survived by her mother, Mary Lou Austin of Norwalk; two daughters, Jamie S. Roberson and Ashlee “Cookie” S. Austin-Walker of Jonesboro, Ga.; a son, Clifton E. Austin (Eboni) of Jacksonville, Fla.; six grandchildren; two sisters; two brothers; godparents; several nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends.
Visitation will be held Friday, March 6, from 5-7 p.m. at the Baxley Funeral Home, 477 Blackshear Highway, Baxley, Ga. Homegoing services will be held Saturday, March 7, at 1 p.m. at Rachel Missionary Baptist Church, 6507 Highway 144, Baxley.
A memorial service in Norwalk will be scheduled and announced at a later date.
