STAMFORD, Conn. – Alethia Williams, also known as Angel, Nana, and Ale, 72, of Stamford, died Sunday, April 26.

She was born Jan. 25, 1943, in Greenwich, to Herman and Mary Williams.

She attended Barry Avenue Elementary School in Mamaroneck, N.Y., and graduated from Rye Neck High School in Rye, N.Y.

Williams lived in Port Chester, N.Y., where she worked at United Hospital until moving to Stamford in the 1960s.

Survivors include five daughters, Joslyn "Jolli" Williams, Mignon "Maine" Williams, Shele "Shelli" Williams, Shanate' "Shea" (Irving) Hutchinson, and Rainique Cornish; two sisters, Sandra Williams of Stamford and Joyce Wilson of Hamden; nine grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her daughter, Monique "Nikki" Williams Warner.

Calling hours will be 9 to 10:30 a.m. Saturday, May 2, at Greater Faith Tabernacle Baptist Church, 27 Baxter Ave., Stamford.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the church.
