Albert Riccio, 89, Lifelong Norwalk Resident, WWII Veteran

NORWALK, Conn. - Albert Riccio of Norwalk died Sunday, Sept. 22. He was 89.

Riccio was born Feb. 13, 1924, in Norwalk, son of Luciano and Marguerite Lucarelli Riccio and lived here all of his life. He was veteran of the U.S. Army serving during World War II and was awarded the Purple Heart for his valor during the Battle of the Bulge.

Riccio is survived by his sister, Josephine M. Scordo of Milford; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; and siblings, Ida Castellano, John, Anthony, Michael and Matthew Riccio.

Calling hours are Wednesday, Sept. 25 from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk, prior to leaving for Mass. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 25 at St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 203 East Ave., Norwalk. Burial with full military honors will follow at St. John Cemetery.
