Albert L. Lewis, 94, Formerly Of Norwalk, Self-Employed Carpenter

STAMFORD, Conn. - Albert L. Lewis of Stamford died July 16.  He was 94.

Lewis was born April 6, 1919, in Gloucester, Mass., son of Edmund and DeVeda Lewis. He was a graduate of Boothbay Harbor High School class of 1937, in Maine. He was employed at Bath Iron Works. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II throughout Europe from 1942 through 1945.

After moving to Norwalk, he joined the carpenter’s union and was a self-employed carpenter. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in South Norwalk for over 50 years. He was also a member of the South Norwalk AARP.

Lewis is survived by his sons, David (Sharon) of East Hampton, Bob (Maryann) of Cheshire and Tim (Sharon) of Stamford; and six grandchildren.  He was predeceased by his wife, Eleanor J. Lewis; four brothers; and two sisters.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday July 19 at the East Avenue United Methodist Church, 244 East Ave., Norwalk, CT 06855.  Burial will be at the Willowbrook Cemetery, Westport.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Lewis’s name to the East Avenue United Methodist Church, 244 East Ave., Norwalk, CT 06855.
