Yankees GM Has Accident In Norwalk

NORWALK, Conn. – The general manager of the New York Yankees ran into a little bit of trouble in Norwalk Thursday evening when he rear-ended another vehicle on Connecticut Avenue, according to Norwalk Police Sgt. Lisa Cotto.

Brian Cashman, 44, of 40 Peach Hill Road, Darien, was driving a 2010 Jeep east on Connecticut Avenue and slid on the pavement in front of The Home Depot, causing minor damage to a 2008 Honda. Neither he nor the woman driving the Honda were injured.

Cotto said the traffic had stopped in front of Cashman and he was following too closely behind the other driver. She said the vehicles suffered "very minor damage." Cashman was issued an infraction for following too close, which carries a fine of $132.
