The National Weather Service has issued a warning about wildfires for Wednesday for all of Fairfield County in Connecticut and Westchester County in New York.
The weather service warns that wildfires would spread rapidly if ignited and become difficult to extinguish.
The warning is in effect from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. for the entire tri-state area, the weather service said.
Westerly winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts of up to 35 mph can be expected with relative humidity as low as 20 percent, the weather service said. The strongest winds will be this afternoon.
