The report was released in an effort to persuade Congress to pass a $302 billion bill to improve infrastructure around the nation. The report said that 41 percent of roads in Connecticut are in poor condition and that 35 percent of the 4,218 bridges in the state were structurally deficient or functionally obsolete, the Hartford Business Journal said.

Nationwide the study says 65 percent of roads are in less than good condition and 25 percent of bridges can't handle current traffic loads.

According to the report, if the bill is not passed, 9,612 jobs in the Nutmeg State will be jeopardized and more than 1,600 infrastructure projects will either be slowed or stopped.
