What's Happening in Norwalk This Weekend

NORWALK, Conn. – It's Memorial Day weekend and Norwalk is buzzing. Here are some of the events happening this weekend, May 25 to 27:

Friday, May 25

“40 under 40” Show. 1 to 4 p.m. High-quality artwork in all media by 40 artists under the age of 40 will be spotlighted in a new juried exhibition at Main Gallery of the Rowayton Arts Center. Rowayton Arts Center, 145 Rowayton Ave., Norwalk.

By the Sea, with Oysters. 1 to 5 p.m. Discover the intrigue, boats, equipment and the men and women of Norwalk’s oldest and venerable industry: the Oyster Industry.  Learn how Norwalk has been harvesting, tending and now raising its delicious and nutritious oysters and clams since the Depression. Norwalk Museum, 41 N Main St., Norwalk.

Saturday, May 26

Bike All Day. 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Join in the weekly Kart Racing at Calf Pasture, which has been going since 1978, every Saturday in June, and then a fall season. Engines start after 9 a.m. Calf Pasture Beach, 99 Calf Pasture Beach Road, Norwalk.

Senses of SoNo. 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Norwalk Parking Authority presents another Art in Parking Places with The Senses of SoNo at the Maritime Garage Gallery. Senses of SoNo features works of all media from selected artists themed on a variation of the traditional five senses. Maritime Garage, 11 N. Water St., Norwalk.

Sunday, May 27

Memorial Day Parade. noon to 2 p.m. Pick your favorite spot along Rowayton Avenue or McKinley Street and cheer for our veterans, Brien McMahon and Roton School marching bands, our commissioners, volunteer firefighters, Little Leaguers, Scouts and the many other enthusiastic marchers. Rowayton Community Center, 33 Highland Ave., Norwalk.
