Monday, June 4

Special Personnel Committee Meeting: 7-9 p.m. The committee, part of the Common Council, is holding a special meeting. City Hall, Personnel Conference Room 123, 125 East Avenue, Norwalk.

Woman's Network Grand Networking: 6- 9 p.m. The 2012 event will be filled with networking, dinner and then lots of laughs with our speaker, Carol Ann Small, a national humorist. The Dolce Center, 32 Weed Avenue, Norwalk

Feldenkrais at Norwalk Senior Center: 11 a.m. - noon Feldenkrais (rhyme with paradise) is one of the newest class offerings. Each week, instructor Cathy Paine teaches a different movement lesson, helping students gently explore and improve such actions as bending, reaching, turning, standing, sitting, breathing and walking. Tuesday, June 5

Red Cross Blood Drive: 12:30 p.m. to 6 p.m. All blood types accepted. Appointments are suggested. American Red Cross Fairfield County Donor Center, 596 Westport Ave., Norwalk.

Causes of Violence: 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. A documentary screening and conversation of "The Interrupters," a documentary of the social conditions that breed violence. Mother and wife Ameena Matthews, husband and father Cobe Williams, and art teacher Eddie Bocanegra are three dedicated "violence interrupters" who bravely work to protect their community. South Norwalk Branch Library, 10 Washington Street, Norwalk.

 

Public Works Committee: 7:30 - 9:30 p.m. The Public Works Committee meets the first Tuesday of every month and is part of the Common Council. City Hall Room 101, 125 East Ave., Norwalk.

Wednesday, June 6

Facilities Construction Committee: 7:30 - 9:30 p.m. It is the regular meeting of the commission. City Hall Room 231, 125 East Avenue, Norwalk.

Thursday, June 7

Mortgage Crisis Job Training; 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Workplace Program Specialist will discuss eligibility for training and education scholarships with interviewees regarding their foreclosure status. Norwalk Main Public Library Chess room, 1 Belden Avenue, Norwalk.

Celebrate Marilyn Monroe in Art: 1 – 6 p.m. Sono Studios is proud to present the premiere of a special exhibition of Marilyn Monroe 2012 (MM12) by photographer Bert Stern. To mark the 50th anniversary of Marilyn Monroe's untimely death, Stern has re-imagined his "Last Sitting" photographs of the actress with crystal adorned prints of some of his most celebrated images as well as a series of never before exhibited special edition prints.
