NORWALK, Conn. -- A water main break spillted rivers of water onto the streets in South Norwalk on Wednesday afternoon, delaying traffic and dirtying the supply to homes in the area.

Photo Credit: Rick RiordanThe water main break occurred in the area of Water Street and Quintard Avenue, spilling brown water from both sides of the intersection. As of 4:30 p.m. police had blocked off Burritt Avenue while crews from South Norwalk Electric & Water worked to repair the damage.
Crews were reportedly working into the evening.
