NORWALK, Conn. -- A water main break was spilling water across Burritt Avenue in South Norwalk on Monday, closing down the roadway as crews went to work on the problem.
The water main break occurred in the area of Water Street and Quintard Avenue. Much of the area was without water Monday morning.
The repairs were expected to take most of the day.
Motorists and residents should avoid the area of the road closure on Burritt.
A detour is in place Monday in the affected area. Part of Burritt Avenue includes Route 136, a busy road in South Norwalk.
