Tide Surges Begin Flooding Parts Of Norwalk

NORWALK, Conn. -- Part of Water Street in South Norwalk and a section of Calf Pasture Beach Road in East Norwalk reportedly were beginning to experience flooding Sunday morning due to tidal surges, as Hurricane Sandy continues to move toward the area.

Norwalk police officers blocked off a part of Water Street Sunday morning. High tides, including a full moon high tide, are expected to exacerbate flooding in coastal areas of Norwalk during the storm, which could last for 36 hours.

Residents and businesses in coastal areas of the city have been warned to be prepared to evacuate.
