Thunderstorms Expected In Norwalk Tuesday

Thunderstorms are expected around Fairfield County Tuesday.

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. — Residents should grab their umbrellas before they head to work or school Tuesday as thunderstorms and heavy rain are predicted to hit Fairfield County.

Rain and thunderstorms are expected throughout the day Tuesday with the chance of precipitation at 80 percent, the National Weather Service forecast said. Up to a half-inch of rain is possible during the day, it said.

The stormy weather should pick up Tuesday night with more precipitation and thunder expected to bring up to 2 inches of new rainfall, the forecast said. The rain and thunderstorms should continue Wednesday before clearing out Thursday morning.

The National Weather Service issued a hazardous weather outlook with the possibility of flooding because of the amount of expected rain the system will bring.
