Supreme Court Upholds Obamacare In 6-3 Vote

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- The Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare, will continue to be the law of the land as a result of a Supreme Court ruling issued Thursday.

In a 6-3 vote, the Supreme Court ruled government subsidies that make health insurance affordable for millions of Americans should be available to all.

About 6.5 million people across the country use Obamacare.

The ruling is considered a huge victory for President Barack Obama and his legacy.

Chief Justice John Roberts wrote the majority opinion for himself, Justices Anthony Kennedy, Sonia Sotomayor, Stephen G. Breyer, Elena Kagan and Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Justice Antonin Scalia wrote the dissent, joined by Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito.
