Unfortunately, his mother, Brittany Lohnes is still hospitalized, according to News 12 Connecticut.
Luke was delivered by cesarean section on March 12 and weighed only 3 pounds, 6 ounces. Since then, he has gained 2 pounds and was able to come home on Wednesday, April 13, News 12 said. HIs father, Luke Lohnes, is thrilled, but is worried about covering the thousands of dollars of medical bills.
To help, friends and family have set-up a GoFundMe page for donations. Brittany, who still has a long road ahead of her, will be moved to Yale-New Haven Hospital so that she will be closer to home and under the care of a pulmonologist who specializes in Adult Respiratory Distress Syndrome.
Five weeks since Luke's birth, and Brittany is still in critical condition.
"Her lungs are badly damaged and they are going to take a very, very long time to recover," the GoFundMe page says. "She is breathing more on her own but it is not easy for her."
