NORWALK, Conn. – Friday morning’s heavy winds and rain caused a small number of power outages in Norwalk, according to Connecticut Light & Power.

As of 9 a.m., 63 CL&P customers in Norwalk were without power, which represented less than 1 percent of the 29,666 businesses and households the utility serves in the city. CL&P primarily serves the central and western areas of Norwalk, in addition to Rowayton.

Information on whether any customers of South Norwalk Electric and Water and the Third Taxing District Electric Co. in East Norwalk were also without power was not immediately available.

Among other Fairfield County towns, CL&P reported Friday that 84 customers were without power in Westport; 106 in Wilton; 377 in Greenwich; and 60 in Danbury.

In total, the utility company reported that 1,818 of its customers throughout the state were experiencing outages, or less than 1 percent.
