Stop & Shop Recalls Several Frozen Food Items

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Stop & Shop grocery stores have issued two separate recalls on several different Amy's Kitchen Frozen Food products and a number of mixed nuts and trail mix food items.

Amy's Kitchen Inc. is voluntarily recalling the products because one of the spinach ingredients from one supplier may possibly contain Listeria monocytogenes, which is the bacterium that causes the infection listeriosis.

The Own Brand & Aurora Brand Walnut & Trail Mix Blend includes five different products that were pulled from shelves after the FDA found a positive test result for Salmonella in walnuts contained in the products. 

Both recalls are Class I, which is the most dangerous. Consumption of Class I recall foods can lead to illness and in some cases death.

Customers may return any of these products for a full refund.
