NORWALK, Conn. A well-traveled Norwalk road progressed from a milled state to smooth pavement Friday, making life less than smooth for many motorists. Workers from Laydon Industries put asphalt down over one lane of Van Zant Street, reducing travel to a one-way direction and tying up traffic on Fort Point Street. The work was done by the state, as Van Zant Street is part of Route 136.
Some motorists who chose to try to avoid the mess wound up right back in it, because of closures on Van Zant Street.
