A Westchester County man struck and killed by a tractor-trailer was pushing his out-of-gas car on I-95 in Greenwich when the accident occurred last weekend, police said. The tractor-trailer driver was blinded by sun glare on a curve and drifted into the shoulder, hitting the man, who was pushing and steering the car while standing on the driver's side door.

Two Stamford women were critically injured when their car was hit by a tractor-trailer near Exit 3 of I-95 in Greenwich. Friends and co-workers from the the Hopscotch Salon in Greenwich have set up a GoFundMe page to help them with their medical bills. The crash occurred about an hour near the scene the fatal accident (above) with traffic tie-ups in the area.   

A 56-year-old Stamford woman died as a result of her injuries from a hit-and-run accident and a second pedestrian was injured as they were walking on Tresser Boulevard near Greenwich Avenue in Stamford. Police were looking for Chevrolet Express or GMC Savana van that fled the scene last weekend.

Sacred Heart University has agreed to buy General Electric's former headquarters in Fairfield for $31.5 million. GE vacated the 66-acre property when the company moved to Boston earlier this year. SHU plans to use the property expand its new School of Computing and to develop programs in STEM fields.

A 57-year-old New Canaan father charged with manslaughter in the overdose death of his 25-year-old son exhibited "extreme recklessness" in sharing his own stash of heroin with his son, who was struggling to kick his drug habit, New Canaan Police said.
