WILTON, Conn. Richard (Dick) H. Petrocelli, 82, a Korean War veteran who worked for more than 20 years as an art teacher for the Norwalk Public School System, died peacefully Wednesday at Wilton Meadows. He was born in Brooklyn and lived in Wilton for almost 40 years. He was an artist, avid reader and an active volunteer with FISH Volunteer Drivers of Norwalk.
Petrocelli graduated from Wittenberg University and attended Ohio State University. He then served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. His passions were tennis, golf and the friends with whom he played.
He is survived by son Todd R. and his wife, Harriet, of Severna Park, Md; daughter Lynne M., of Ridgefield; two grandsons; his brother, Robert H. Sr., of Larchmont, N.Y., and his wife, Rita; his nephew, Robert H., Jr., and his wife, Anne, and their son, Christopher; and niece Patti Ann McLaughlin Haight and her husband, David.
A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, at the Collins Funeral Home, at 92 East Avenue, Norwalk. The family will receive friends at the funeral home starting at 2 p.m.
