Report: Kids In Home, Pilot Unaccounted For After East Haven Plane Crash

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- The pilot is unaccounted for after his plane crashed as are two children who were in one of the two homes hit by the plane late Friday morning, the East Haven mayor told NBC Connecticut .

The Rockwell International Turbo Commander 690B coming from Teterboro Airport in New Jersey crashed into the two homes in East Haven as it approached Tweed Airport in New Haven in the rain at about 11:30 a.m. Friday, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

Two children, ages 1 and around 13, were in the house, according to East Haven Mayor Joseph Maturo. Both homes were destroyed.
