Report: Connecticut Begins Three-Month Lobstering Ban On Long Island Sound

FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- Connecticut has banned lobstering in Long Island Sound for the next three months in an effort to rebuild the stock of lobsters in the coastal waters, according to a report in The Portland Press Herald.

The closure, which lasts through Nov. 28, aims to reduce the total lobster harvest to give the Sound's depleted lobster population a chance to rebuild.
