Bleeding and lying on the steps of 31 Clay St. Sunday evening, a16-year-old girl had no problem identifying her assailant, according to police. Her 17-year-old boyfriend stabbed her, she said, after she told him she was pregnant with his child.
Norwalk Police responded to the 911 call at 9:13 p.m. The complainant reported hearing screaming in the wooded area at the end of Clay Street and had watched two teenaged boys carry a girl out of the woods. They laid her on the steps and ran away.
The victim told police she had walked into the woods with her boyfriend and his friend. When she delivered the news, the boyfriend began hitting her. His friend hit her as well. She did not see a knife. Officer William Curwen said the attack left puncture wounds on the girl's left side and back, cuts on the left side of her back, cuts on the left side of the back of her neck, cuts on her left elbow, cuts just above the left side of her buttocks and on both hands. She was having difficulty breathing. She was taken to Norwalk Hospital. Police report hearing that she has a punctured lung.
Police were in the area and immediately found two young men who matched the description on Monroe Street. They also found a knife with an 8-inch blade.
The boyfriend has been charged with interfering with a police officer, assault and criminal attempt at murder. Bond was set at $250,000. His friend was arrested on a lesser charge, with a $500 bond.
