NORWALK, Conn. – A power outage Wednesday morning affected about 3,900 Connecticut Light & Power customers in Norwalk as of 10:55 a.m., the utility reported.

By 11:35 a.m., power had been stored to all but one customer, according to CL&P.

An equipment issue at one of Norwalk's substations caused the outage, according to CL&P spokesman Mitch Gross. Power was out for about an hour and 45 minutes, and the number of affected homes and businesses represented 13 percent of CL&P’s customers in the city.

The outage reportedly affected railroad crossings in the city.

Unlike other parts of the state, Norwalk escaped widespread outages during last week's blizzard.
