Police: Man Accused Of Groping Woman In Norwalk Parking Lot

NORWALK, Conn. – A 72-year-old Norwalk man was accused of groping a woman in a South Main Street parking lot Wednesday afternoon, according to police reports.

A 53-year-old woman called police to report that a man who had been sweeping a Norwalk parking lot grabbed her breast and spit in her direction Wednesday afternoon, according to the police report. She identified the suspect as Alcides Hernandez, 72, of Chapel Street, police said.

Hernandez denied the allegations when officers arrived, according to the police report. He then began to resist when officers tried to arrest him, police said. He spit toward police and refused to be handcuffed, according to the police report.

Hernandez was charged with fourth-degree sexual assault and interfering with police. He was held on a $1,000 bond, and is due in court on Sept. 6.
