No arrests were made during an investigation Thursday at Roodner Court, but Norwalk police took an interesting item into custody.
Police were called to Roodner Court on a report of narcotics activity. Officers checked Building 14 and found nothing unusual, but saw a small group of young people near Building 18. When the officers approached the group, the young people took off running.
Officers investigated in the area to determine why the group ran away. An officer noticed offset ceiling tiles on the second floor of the building and looked in the ceiling. He found a purple towel and pulled it out; wrapped inside was a shotgun.
Officers confiscated the Franchi shotgun. It was checked with the National Crime Information Center to determine whether it was stolen or linked to criminal activities. No results were found.
