NORWALK, Conn. A teenager who was wearing a wig was arrested Monday afternoon after he was spotted attempting to break into a home, Norwalk police said.
The 17-year-old lives in one side of a two-family home on Coldspring Street and was seen using a pry bar to try and open the back door of the other family's apartment, Officer Carleton Giles said. His neighbor called police at 1:04 p.m., and said the teen had climbed over a railing and tried to come in through a window, police said.
Police said they found the teen walking from around the back of the house. He was wearing a wig and reportedly told police it was because of a dare from his friends at school.
There were pry marks on the window, Giles said. He said he did not know if the alleged dare included the illegal activities. The teen was charged with attempted burglary.
