Norwalk's Third Taxing District Gives Annual Update

NORWALK, Conn. – The electors of the Third Taxing District recently held their annual meeting at the Marvin Community Room in East Norwalk.

Commission Chairman Charlie Yost, Commissioners David Brown and Debora Goldstein, Treasurer Michael Intrieri and General Manager Jim Smith all attended the March 23 meeting and were on hand to answer questions from interested citizens, according to a press release.

Smith presented the Third Taxing District’s financial report, discussing projects such as Cervalis project on Norden Street and the Fitch Street substation.

He also presented the results of a recent customer service survey, which ranks the Third Taxing District’s utility services among the top 10 percent in the entire United States.

Goldstein briefly discussed municipal bonds and gave a general industry and legislative update.

“We are committed as ever to putting your needs first,” Goldstein said during the meeting.

“We watch the industry closely and work hard to advocate on your behalf.”

The next meeting of the Third Taxing District Commission will be held at 7 p.m. Monday.

The meeting will be held at the Third  Taxing District Office, 2 Second St., East Norwalk.
