Norwalk's Neon Is Accepting Energy Assistance Applications

NORWALK, Conn. -- As heating season approaches, Norwalk Economic Opportunity Now Inc. is accepting applications for financial assistance on fuel and energy bills under the Connecticut Energy Assistance Program.

The program is available to income-eligible residents in Norwalk, New Canaan, Wilton, Westport, Weston, Darien, Stamford and Greenwich.

Households must apply for energy assistance to receive benefits, including people who are automatically income eligible. Connecticut Department of Social Services cash assistance recipients must provide identification and be verified as eligible.

NEON’s Community Energy Services Department has made arrangements to accept energy applications for the residents of multiple towns through each town’s Social Services Department office. Applicants will need to contact the Social Service Department in their towns to make appointments, or visit NEON’s Community Energy Services Department offices in Norwalk or Stamford.
