Yesterday, John Kelly called Gov. Dannel Malloy a "loser" over the idea of cutting the train service between Danbury and Norwalk. Today, Patty Somma DiBartolomeo has her own one word response: "Ridiculous!!"
DiBartolomeo is one of several readers of The Daily Norwalk unhappy with the potential cut , one of many options presented to Malloy by the Office of Policy and Management as possible ways to achieve $2 billion in budget adjustments over two years. Malloy's press secretary, Juliet Manalan, said cutting the train service is "not a foregone conclusion."
"What about the boys that commute to Fairfield Prep and the girls that commute to Lauralton Hall coming from that area," DiBartolomeo asked on Facebook . "You need the service from Danbury to Norwalk!"
Frequent commenter Angela J Bagnara said the move would also affect workers who take the train. "Another stupid idea from this man that was put in office..." she said.
"The traffic on Route 7 is already too much and it spreads out to ALL the side roads," Patty Davis wrote. "Gov. Malloy should be looking to ENCOURAGE people using mass transit rather than making it harder to use. With gas prices still climbing more and more folks are looking for an alternative way to commute."
