NorWalker Launch Event Postponed Due To Snowy Weather Forecast

NORWALK, Conn. -- Due to the expected snow on Saturday, April 9, the Healthy for Life Project and the Norwalk Health Department have postponed the NorWALKer launch event originally scheduled at Veterans Park. 

The NorWALKer planned for Saturday April 8, has been postponed until Saturday, June 4 due to the impending snow.

The event is rescheduled for Saturday, June 4. 

The NorWALKer event is the kick-off for the city's residents to get out and get walking as a way to get healthy. 

During the event, residents can join the Healthy for Life Project and its community partners for a day of fun at Veteran's Park and neighboring South Norwalk! Free giveaways, healthy snacks, and information from community partners are available to all who attend.

The Healthy for Life Project is working to make your community a healthier place to live, work, learn, and play. The Project is a coalition of organizations, agencies, and community members from the Greater Norwalk area, including Norwalk, New Canaan, Westport, Weston, Wilton, Darien, and Fairfield. 

It originated from a comprehensive community health assessment and improvement plan conducted in 2012 by Norwalk Hospital and Norwalk Health Department. Its mission is to reduce and prevent obesity and chronic disease by promoting healthy lifestyles in local communities, and its goals are simple: Help people of all ages Eat Well and Move More.
