Chanel Grant, 19, of Woodward Avenue, went into the Norwalk Police headquarters Sunday afternoon to complain about an argument she was in at Stop & Shop. But police had a warrant for her arrest, stemming from a fight she had allegedly been involved in at Norwalk High School on March 30, 2009. She was arrested and charged with two counts of larceny. Bond was set at $2,000.
Grant allegedly stole the pocketbook of the girl with whom she had been fighting. It contained $350.

Norwalk police are searching for a 5-foot-5 woman who was wearing a dress with cheetah or leopard spots early Sunday after what some might call a "cat fight" at the Black Bear Saloon on Washington Street. Two women got into an argument at about 1 a.m., and the woman in the spotted dress threw something metal at the 21-year-old victim and hit her in the head. The suspect fled. Police weren't sure what the metal object was, but the victim was taken to Norwalk Hospital.
A Norwalk High School student said a masked man robbed him Saturday night at knifepoint. The teen was walking home from the high school at about 8:30 p.m., and a 6-foot-tall man in dark clothing and a black mask ran up from behind him in the area of 624 Strawberry Hill Road. The man had a knife in his left hand, and told the boy to give him all his stuff. He took the boy's Verizon cell phone and a left-handed black Rawlings baseball glove, and ran toward Wolfpit Avenue.
Joseph Bonanni, 59, was arrested and charged with public indecency, disorderly conduct and interfering with a police officer after a neighbor allegedly saw him standing on a balcony masturbating at 1:39 a.m. Saturday at 24 Union Ave. It was not the first time Bonanni has been arrested on such charges. Police say he barricaded himself in the bathroom, and when he came out he had blood on his hands because he had allegedly cut himself. Police asked why, and he said he had suicidal tendencies and "crack makes you do crazy stuff."
A Norwalk man was arrested on multiple drug charges after getting into an argument with his girlfriend Friday and driving her car into parked vehicles. Jerome Polite, 30, of 9 Jefferson St., was charged with illegal manufacture, distribution, sale, criminal mischief, possession of narcotics, illegal possession near a school, evading responsibility, interfering with a police officer and reckless driving. Bond was set at $50,000.
The girlfriend was breaking up with Polite, police said. She said he "went nuts" and threw a concrete lawn ornament into the side of her car. He then got into her other car, made a U-turn and drove up onto the sidewalk, into the yard, through a picket fence, into the neighbor's yard, back onto the sidewalk and into two parked cars. He then got out and ran into the backyard. Police found him a short while later. Police said he had 10 bags of crack in his possession.
