A 24-year-old Norwalk woman who was arrested last week on drug charges was arrested again Monday on charges of setting a fire. Norwalk Police arrested Lisa Tamburri of 22 Noah's Lane on a warrant listing 12 suspicious fires that occurred either near Tamburri's home or at places where she worked. She was charged with reckless burning, reckless endangerment and criminal mischief. Bond was $10,000.
Police allege that Tamburri started a small fire on Dec. 18 in the kitchen at the Shore and Country Club , where she had been employed since the previous March. Officers responding to the complaint smelled a burning odor and found small pieces of singed cardboard, surrounded by other pieces of paper, sunflower seeds, sugar, baking soda, in an unplugged metal appliance. It appeared that the cardboard had been meant as kindling.
Tamburri's work station was closest to the fire. Police have video from two surveillance cameras at the Shore and Country Club. They say Tamburri was seen walking to and from the rear storage room, where the fire occurred, less than two minutes before 10 other employees went there to put out a fire. She did not help put it out.
Tamburri was also a suspect in a 2009 fire that occurred at the Dolce Conference Center , where she worked at the time. There had been three previous fires that had not been reported to police. In one incident, a can of Sterno was lit under a bag of marshmallows.
Tamburri was arrested on drug charges last week after she allegedly barged into the police headquarters parking area and screamed that she had been kidnapped.
