Norwalk Woman Attacked With Baseball Bat

NORWALK, Conn. – A 24-year-old Norwalk woman told police she was attacked by a trio of women who hit her in the head and face with a baseball bat and stole her cell phone while she was leaving her Ely Ave. residence late Wednesday afternoon.

Police said the woman told them she was on her way out of her residence at the Roodner Court Housing Complex, 261 Ely Ave., at about 3 p.m. to pick up her child at a bus stop, when three females jumped her from behind, and attacked her with the bat and took her phone.

The woman, who was dazed from the attack, sought treatment at Norwalk Hospital, and later reported the incident to police, according to Norwalk Police Sgt. Lisa Cotto, the department's spokeswoman.

Cotto said the woman, who had a swollen lip, could not describe her assailants, but that she came back a second time late Thursday night to provide additional information that could help police in their investigation.
