City officials are monitoring the storm, and said that another weather system is expected to bring rain, winds, and mild to moderate coastal flooding in the area. City departments met Friday morning to discuss preparations for potential flooding.

"A coastal flood advisory remains in effect, if you live in an area that typically flood during high tidal cycles, consider moving your vehicles to higher ground," the city said in a statement sent Friday afternoon. "The Yankee Doodle garage may be used if no other parking option is available. If that is full, the Webster lot may be used."

Norwalk officials are reminding residents not to drive or walk through flooded roads, as there may be hazards under the water or a strong current that can damage cars or cause injury. Residents should not move Public Works barriers used to close streets.

There remains the potential for high winds of 30 mph or more, so residents should secure all outside furniture, trash cans, toys and decorations.

"The safety of Norwalkers and our first responders is the City's highest priority. While some activities, like kayaking or surfing, may seem more exciting in storm driven waters, not only are you putting your life at risk, you also risk the lives of those who may need to rescue you."
