FAIRFIELD COUNTY, Conn. -- With just a few days left in spring, the weather will be positively summer-like in Fairfield County as the week opens, according to the National Weather Service.
Monday will be sunny with a high near 82 degrees, a beautiful start to the week despite a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 3 p.m., the weather service said.
The chance of a shower or thunderstorm is a bit higher on Tuesday -- about 40 percent -- under mostly cloudy skies and a high near 78 degrees, the weather service said.
Wednesday, Thursday and Friday all promise to be sunny with highs in the 70s and approaching 80 degrees on Friday, which is the official first day of summer.
