In a message to residents Tuesday afternoon, Rilling said that city services will return to normal Wednesday and that City Hall and other municipal buildings will be opened at their scheduled times.

The Norwalk Public Schools will make a decision later Tuesday regarding its Wednesday schedule.

"Thanks to the overnight work of the city's Public Works staff, all main roads are passable and improving and work on secondary roads and parking lots will be completed this evening," Rilling said.

He reminded residents that state travel bans have been lifted and Metro-North train service has returned.

He also told residents that the city's Customer Service Department is open Tuesday and can be reached at 203-854-3200 for any storm-releated problems.

"For everyone's safety, please ensure your sidewalks are shoveled and vehicles are clear of snow before driving," Rilling said. "Thank you all for your cooperation during this event."
