Norwalk’s STAR Programs Receive $5K Grant From First County Bank

NORWALK, Conn. – First County Bank employees David Van Buskirk, assistant vice president of business development, and Wendy Macedo, assistant vice president and branch manager in Norwalk, recently visited STAR Inc. Lighting the Way to present a $5,000 grant.

The money will go toward enhancing the early intervention program and the programs for children from birth to age three who have developmental delays and autism.

“STAR Inc. Lighting the Way is pleased to be the recipient of this grant award from First County Bank, and we are very grateful for their support, outreach and community orientation,” said Katie Banzhaf, executive director of STAR.

Buskirk and Macedo toured the STAR facility and a group home. They also spoke with House Manager Sharon Williams about the day-to-day activities at STAR.

STAR Inc. Lighting the Way is a nonprofit organization that serves individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities and provides support to the families of these individuals.
