Norwalk Police to Step Up DUI Enforcement Saturday

NORWALK, Conn. – Norwalk's Memorial Day observance will begin Saturday with extra patrols from Norwalk Police.

Police will be looking for people who are driving under the influence on West Avenue, Sgt. Lisa Cotto said. It's the beginning of extra DUI patrols and enforcement for Memorial Day and the upcoming summer season.

The enforcement is made possible by the Connecticut Department of Transportation and the federal highway safety program.

Also on the Norwalk Police schedule:

You can tour Norwalk Police headquarters from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday during an open house held in conjunction with the observance of National Police Memorial Week. There will be tours of the building, and staff members will be on hand to explain the function of each department.

I wonder how many cops when off duty have been stopped for DUI but have been given a hook up by their "brothers in blue" , As we all now alcoholism is extremity prevalent among police and also as we all know it is standard fare for cops to look the other way when its another cop..

What we need is TimT to start saying something different in his posts...

lwitherspoon:

Tim T thinks that if he repeats himself enough times, he'll scare people into going back in time and voting for Andy Garfunkel instead of re-electing Mayor Moccia. He wants to scare people into feeling unsafe in Norwalk.

The reality, of course, is that the vast majority of people who are not gang members feel safe and secure in Norwalk. I know I do. If gang members want to keep shooting at each other and not helping the police solve the crimes, then that's a shame but so be it... as long as innocents don't get caught in the crossfire.

Drunk drivers, in contrast, kill innocent victims. So I'm glad there will be enforcement.

Tim T:

So tell us lwitherspoon or should I say rerbc how much are you being paid by the administration to post as no one could be so stupid to post what you do for free.I know you will deny this but it's time to come clean as it is so obvious.
Also its strange that you feel people feel safe in Norwalk as I know of no one other than you and a few other of Moccia's buddies who feel this way. In my line of work I come into contact with many in Norwalk each day and not one of them are a gang members and not one of the feel safe. Also most feel the same why I do about the NPD that they are a failure and that change is needed from the top down.

If I am being paid by the administration, why was I the first person to comment that the Police Officer who was observed speeding on Beach Road should be disciplined, if he wasn't responding to a call?

If I am being paid by the administration, why have I criticized the administration on these same pages? Here's the link:

I have provided the facts, now people can judge for themselves. Maybe some day you will provide evidence that backs up the wild claims that you make.

For the record, unlike you, I only post here under one username. I do think it's interesting that you have never denied that you and Mr Nelson are one and the same.

Regarding safety in Norwalk, you and your "friends" must live in a very bad part of town. Or maybe you are gang members? If things are truly as bad as you say why have you not considered moving elsewhere?

There are legitimate reasons to oppose the City administration, but you consistently fail to articulate any of them. Just keep beating that dead horse about how there's an epidemic of shootings and killings in Norwalk, you think you're scaring people and hurting Moccia but the reality is that you're helping him.

Tim T:

lwitherspoon or should I say rerbc you talk and talk but say nothing

Tim T:

What we need is some extra enforcement of all the unsolved shootings and killing of the last 4 years.. Instead of excuse after excuse why the NPD can not effectively do the job.that they are over paid to do
